Itinerary

Day 1 :Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Agdez.

Departing from your hotel or riad in Marrakech by 4x4 for Agdez, we cross the High Atlas via the Tichka Pass. We stop at several kasbahs along the way, including Kasbah Talweet. Now in ruins, after the last Pacha fled the country and the French left, it belonged to the Galaoui family, known as the Masters of the Atlas. We continue on to Ait Ben Haddou, along the Onela valley, to discover Morocco's most famous Kasbah. We take picturesque, winding roads through the Atlas Mountains. We continue south to Agdez and the entrance to the Draa Valley.

Day 2 : Agdez - Zagora - M'Hamid - Chegaga Dunes

Departure After breakfast, we take the ancient caravan route, passing through desert villages and gardens. You'll observe the local way of life as you travel through oases. We continue to M'Hamid, at the gateway to the Sahara desert, and stop at our superb camp, Nakhla, for lunch. You'll walk by camel, then continue by 4x4 through the Chegaga dunes. Then we continue our journey away from civilization: you'll be in the desert, where silence and vast expanses reign. You'll spend the night in a Bedouin tent to experience life in the desert.

Day 3 : Chegaga Dunes - Taznakht - Taliouine - Taroudant

We cross the Sahara, the rocky desert and the dry lake of Ireki. We head north to Tzanakht via Foum Zquit, famous for its Berber carpets. Then on to Taliouine, in the heart of Morocco's saffron-growing region. Lunch and on to Taroudant for the night in a riad or hotel.

Day 4 Taroudant - Agadir - Taghazout - Essaouira

In the morning, you can discover the small town of Taroudant, known as "Little Marrakech" for its ramparts and medina. We continue along the valley of the Souss river through the argan forest that supplies the essential argan oil industry. The road from Agadir climbs along the coast of Paradise Valley, passing through the fishing village of Taghazout, with the mountains in the background. On arrival in Essaouira, you'll explore the town and medina at your own pace, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the bohemian boutiques and cafés. Stroll along the seafront, lined with restaurants serving fresh fish caught in the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 5 : Essaouira - Marrakech

This morning, we took advantage of our free time to drive to Essaouira. Afternoon transfer to Marrakech. Dinner and accommodation in Marrakech

Day 6 : Day trip Discover Marrakesh

In the morning and after breakfast, visit the city of Marrakech, which rises like a mirage at the foot of the snow-capped peaks of the High Atlas. Surrounded by gleaming red walls, it's known as the "red city". Marrakech gave its name to the Kingdom of Morocco. Koutoubia: Visit one of the largest mosques in the Islamic East. Palais de la Bahia: Built in the late 14th century, this palace is surrounded by an 8-hectare garden, and comprises a succession of luxurious secret apartments that open onto inner courtyards. Saadian tombs: Several mausoleums were built in the 18th century to house the remains of thirteen kings of the Saadian dynasty. The beautiful souks of Marrakech: crammed into the heart of Marrakech, the traditional economic hustle and bustle of life, where everything is hidden and yet everything can be seen. In the streets of the Medina, you'll find craftsmen and above all artists, jewelers, dyers, blacksmiths, carpenters... The magnificent Jemaa El Fna

Excellent, probably the best yet.

This was an amazing trip. Totally fell in love with Vietnam, We did so much in such in two weeks. The cycling, somehow. only felt like a small part of the experience as there were so many other things that we did. Each day was full on, exceptionally well organised, great food, etc Been on a few cycle trips, and I think this was the best one so far.

Good 'ole Exodus!

An interesting blend of Vietnam from north to south including an o/n sleeper train. The success and enjoyment of these trips is usually down to the blend of fellow travellers and team leader and this one was no different. The weather, early season, was mixed with a little more rain and cloud than hoped for but did not detract from the enjoyment but a little more sunshine would have enhanced the countryside. A read of the brochure and trip notes will give a very accurate picture of the breadth and variety of the trip. The daily riding distances are mainly governed by the fitness of the participants and their ability to cover the miles in a reasonable time and for the first time in my experience of 7 trips we were delayed by some participants who frankly were not cycling fit and I wonder if they had read and understood the pre - trip advice!
